End-to-end product design for Dialectify — a language learning app built around real conversation, not repetitive drilling. Designed for users who want to connect locally, not just learn globally.

Dialectify

`The language learning market is dominated by gamified, notification-heavy apps that prioritise streaks over actual fluency. Dialectify's core insight was different — real language is learned through real conversation with people near you. The product needed to feel warm and social, not clinical and educational.
The design challenge was translating that human insight into an interface that felt approachable for beginners while being genuinely useful for intermediate learners. Every screen had to balance playfulness with purpose.`
"Language learning apps all look the same. How do you design one that feels alive?"
The challenge
Next project
`The UI system was built on a vibrant but considered palette — deep purple as the primary, soft pastels for content zones, and 3D illustrated elements to signal that this wasn't another flat productivity tool. The onboarding flow was designed to get users into a real conversation within 3 screens, not 10. Dialectify's navigation was restructured around people to talk to, not lessons to complete. The shift from content-first to connection-first changed everything about how the app felt to use.`
"Designed around conversation first, lessons second."
